Richard & Lara

Lara and I actually go waaaaaay back. 11 years to be exact. I first met this beautiful woman when she was just a fresh teen! Her wonderful parents helped two lowly immigrants (yours truly and my better half) make a home in our new country, Australia. So when Lara asked me to photograph her wedding I was MASSIVELY honoured (and honestly felt just the tiniest bit of pressure to do the best possible job I could for one of the most generous and incredible families I am blessed to know). Both Richard and Lara work as paramedics, but they absolutely love the finer things in life - especially when it comes to food and wine! (Definitely my kind of people! Did you say food!??) This beautiful couple decided to hold an extremely intimate degustation dinner for their absolute nearest and dearest. The wedding was held at the stunning Spicers Clovelly Estate (Montville), with photos at the iconic One Tree Hill in Maleny. Richard and his groomsman (aka Will Ferrell) scrubbed up really well in their tuxedo's, and Lara and her bridesmaids looked breathtaking. Lara's gorgeous gown by designers Rue De Seine was nothing short of magical. It was a perfect Queensland day, and Pastor Jake delivered a wonderful ceremony (he is legit THE BEST). During the official photos, the couple enjoyed delicious canapĂ©'s and Dom Perignon Champagne overlooking the Glasshouse mountains and the most spectacular sunset - an undoubtedly blessed day with pictures to prove it! The Reception was decorated BEAUTIFULLY by Mondo Floral Design (all flowers by this amazing team - including the prettiest arbour I ever did see) - and the degustation dinner was delicious (thanks for letting me part-take in the feast!!!), my favourite course being the "Roasted Watermelon and Berries" (no it was not dessert, and YES IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!!). Richard and Lara, I pray that your days are filled with intimate family meals, hugs and kisses and a thousand well-wishes. You deserve all of these things and more. What an absolute privilege it was for me to share in this truly magical and special day with you both. I'll end off by quoting a Frank Sinatra Song that your love reminds me of:

"Are the stars out tonight?
I don't know if it's cloudy or bright
'Cause I only have eyes for you, dear
The moon may be high
But I can't see a thing in the sky
'Cause I only have eyes for you"

Massive love to you both! xxx
